A'Ghrian - Shaun Davey

A'Ghrian composed by Shaun Davey for full orchestra, pipe band, solo voice and choir. The text of this movement from Shaun Davey's large-scale work 'The Pilgrim' is in Scots Gaelic and comes from the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides. It consists of very ancient traditional verses relating to the worship of the sun and concludes with a fusion of this older tradition with the newer Christian tradition brought to Scotland by Colum Cille.
