New items coming to College Choral Series

We are delighted to introduce five new composers to this growing series of Irish choral music. Renowned English composer Colin Mawby has composed two pieces on Joyce's texts from 'Chamber Music'. Eoghan Desmond's Oxen of the Sun is also based on a Joyce text and Eoin Conway's Wild Mountain Thyme features a tenor soloist accompanied by mixed choir. US composer Tim Stephens' setting of the Joyce poem At that hour when all things have repose features a harp accompaniment and is written in a truly contemporary choral style. Irish composer Kevin Whyms has written a beautiful arrangement of Irish traditional song The Maid of Culmore with a guitar accompaniment which we predict will become one of the most popular in this series.

College Choral Series was introduced in 2015 in association with The Choral Scholars of University College Dublin - Ireland's foremost collegiate choral ensemble and their artistic director Desmond Earley.

College Choral Series pieces feature on the Signum Classics label in recordings by The Choral Scholars of University College Dublin Invisible Stars and Perpetual Twilight
