Academic Festival Overture - J. Brahms

Brahms composed this festive overture in 1879 as a gesture of gratitude to the University of Breslau for the honourary doctorate in philosophy it granted him. He incorporated a number of student songs in the piece, including the famous 'Gaudeamus Igitur'.
