Bright Cap and Streamers - Colin Mawby

James Joyce considered the poems from his Chamber Music collection ‘pretty enough to be put to music’ and expressed the hope to his brother that ‘someone will do so, someone that knows old English music, as I like’. One of two poems set by English composer Colin Mawby, Bright Cap and Streamers draws on references to song, whilst the youthful passion is reflected in the writing for clarinet and choir.
